Already providing an extensive range of roofing services to its customers throughout Yorkshire, APM Roofing has recently added a new offering to its skillset. Now fully qualified to install fibreglass roof coverings after recently completing official training, the company is expecting an influx of new business from customers looking to benefit from this popular innovation in roofing.
“We made the decision to undergo fibreglass roofing training in order to keep up with today’s best offering,” commented Andy MacDonald, Managing Director of APM Roofing Services. “It became apparent to us that the benefits of fibreglass roofing were worth investigating, and we wanted to be able to advise our customers accordingly.” Only ever installed by roofers holding the fibreglass roofing qualification, fibreglass roof coverings are fast becoming the first choice for new-build projects and roof replacements.
A fibreglass roof is made with GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester), and is specifically designed to provide an ultra-durable, non-corrosive and entirely waterproof finish, regardless of the roof’s design or size. Fibreglass is also an ideal choice for outdoor structures due to its resistance to ultra-violet light, extreme temperatures and various chemicals.
An additional benefit of fibreglass roofing is that, when compared with metal or plastic, it provides more effecting sound-proofing from the elements, and can be reinforced with specific materials in order to heighten this effect. And, from an aesthetic perspective, the fibreglass roofing panels are available in a choice of colours, textures and finishes, and offer additional flexibility in terms of shape and design. Not only can they be easily moulded and manufactured to meet specific requirements, but they also offer a very high strength-to-weight ratio and are therefore easy to install.
Now being used within the commercial and public sectors for a variety of roofing requirements, including flat roofs, pitched roofs, balconies, roof-top gardens and terraces, the fibreglass-based solution is fast replacing the more traditional roofing materials such as felt and other bitumen-based products.
“We anticipate that there is going to be a great demand for fibreglass roofing in Leeds and the surrounding area in the near future, as many architects and builders are recognising it to be the most hard-wearing and long-lasting material for roofing,” said Andy. “We’re very pleased that we can now offer this service to both new and existing APM Roofing customers, and it re-establishes our company as being the best in our field for Yorkshire’s roofing needs.”
